How to Find the Perfect Wedding Shoes

Got the PERFECT wedding dress but now need to find some shoes? Read these tips to make sure you find the best shoes to pair with that gorgeous wedding dress!

One

Are the shoes within your budget? This was the first thing I filtered when I was searching online for my wedding shoes. I didn’t want to have the risk of falling in love with something that wasn’t within my budget. So why create more stress for yourself? Click that filter button and start browsing for some cute shoes! If you do find shoes that you love that aren’t within your budget (tsk, tsk, lol) use the chrome extension Karma or Honey to add it to your watchlist. This will notify you when they go on sale and will also search for any promo codes when you’re checking out.

Two

Are the shoes comfortable? DEFINITELY consider how comfortable the shoes are when you’re trying them on since you’re probably going to be on your feet for about 80% of the time. You’ll taking a ton of pictures and then trying to talk to all your guest. Trust me, you’ll definitely want comfortable shoes to wear on your big day so you feet won’t hate you the next day. I decided on Betsy Johnson booties and I do not regret it at all. These booties had a chunky heel and weren’t very high which made walking in them a breeze. I’m very use to booties since I wore them when I went out for the night or going to work in the office.  During my wedding, I was on my feet from 4 pm to 11 pm with maybe small breaks in between to eat, swing on the outdoor swing and a break from dancing. So please consider if the shoes will be comfortable to wear for a long period of time.

Three

Will you be able to re-wear the shoes for another occasion? Let face it, wedding shoes are not cheap. So to get the most bang for your buck, consider something that you can wear again and again. That way you won’t feel like you wasted a ton of money on shoes that you can only wear once. I love my booties and they would pair well for any fun night out outfit or even for a NYE’s celebration! I have also seen some people buy just plain white booties which make for some CUTE outfits.

Four

Do they match your aesthetic? Yes, no one might even see your shoes since they may be covered by your wedding dress the whole night…but the photographers actually may do some detail shots of them. Detail shots are close up shots of your wedding accessories, so usually some of your wedding rings, jewelry, dress and shoes. Of course you can say no to photos of your shoes if you don’t want them to be photographed but it’s just something to keep in mind. Mine were so fun, that we actually did some fun shots to show them off!

Five

Do you love them? All of the previous points won’t matter if you don’t love the shoes. What’s the point of wearing them if you don’t like them? I know you’re trying to consider all the other points but at the end of the day, if you don’t love them, don’t buy the shoes. It’s you’re wedding day and you want everything to be perfect…including your shoes! So don’t give up and you’ll definitely find the PERFECT pair for your big day!
